Old Business
1. Update on Gun Bash tickets – Nov 18th American Legion
Mellissa said they have 40 tickets to go out yet. That does not include the tickets that are still out with others who are selling. Not concerned regarding selling what is left.
Tri-Star offered to sell tickets & will donate some free oil changes
Food: meatballs in sauce; hot sausage; hot dogs; potato salad; Texas Roadhouse buns; chips; soda. Everyone asked to make cookies for event.
2. Update on Christmas lights & trees being made.
Mellissa said she talked to Gary Baird he would make them for us, but not with pallets. He will provide the wood material needed, but there may be small cost for misc. items needed.
3. Update of storage shed cost.
This was put off until next month’s council meeting so information can be gotten about the cost. Mellissa said she will have someone come to next month’s meeting to explain to council about the program.
4. Update on Fun Day (American Legion Xmas party is on Dec 19th – no conflict)
No update from Sue L on Oriental Trading for Halloween prizes.
Mellissa asked if we are going to purchase the hot dog sticks for roasting. People concerned that stick were not clean enough to use. No update on the price of metal rods.
Brittany M said Jason Macintosh would come & perform.
6. Decision on play equipment piece for Upper Park.
Brittany M asked what we want to do. She measured it and we have enough room. Still on hold.
7. Update on ornament sales.
Mellissa said she will start collecting from businesses & individuals selling to get accurate count.
No other old Business.
New Business
- Christmas Theme and location: Dec 6 from 5 – 7 PM.
Grinch theme and hold at Fire Hall again. Kids make little ginger bread houses. Everyone wear green. Hanna said she will be the Grinch and wear the costume.
- Marianas’s Sub & Pizza Sale: Orders due Dec 1st to be delivered on Dec 8th.
- Christmas decoration of street poles: Don Wynn wanted to know if more candy canes needed to be purchased, because several were not useable again. Melissa said they tossed quite a few after taking them down last year, but there are still a lot of new ones that can be pulled out & used.
- Zoom Meeting presented by Darren Trainer: Regarding Parks use of Elavon program and S&T Bank Merchant Card for donations only. Sue Bartow asked if funds would flow through the Borough. Darren said “No, funds will only be deposited into whatever account is dictated and that will be the Bolivar Parks & Recreation Account only”. No fee for usage to Parks, but a 3% fee charged to person donating. No sales tax to be reported, but will need Boroughs Tax ID # to set-up. Concern expressed that people would not use if fee charged, but decided in today’s world this is the common practice. All attending thought this would be a good program. Information to be brought to the next Borough Council meeting, Nov 6th, for decision to be made.
Nothing else to discuss.
Mellissa motions to close 2nd by Brittany H at 8:18 PM.
Respectfully,
Georgianna Wheeler
Secretary / Treasurer
